FDOT V2X Telematics Demonstration Deployment Program
In 2015, the U.S. Department of Transportation began the V2X Telematics Demonstration Deployment Program with $45 million in funding for three pilots at the New York Department of Transportation, the Tampa Hillsborough Turnpike Authority and the Wyoming Department of Transportation. The three demonstration areas help guide 27 other U.S. states in deploying V2X technology. One of them, Tampa, Florida, will work with OEMs and fleets to move to the next phase of its deployment. This new program will deploy a total of 125 C-V2X OBUs + HMIs on emergency vehicles, fire trucks and other commercial vehicles.
